John joined the firm in 1989. The focus of his practice is in the areas of real estate, including land use and permitting, business, creditor's rights, and Estate Planning and Administration. For 40 years he has handled all aspects of both residential and commercial real estate transactions, including representing lenders, buyers, sellers, and borrowers in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. John has also served as local counsel to out of state developers and has issued numerous zoning and authority opinions in connection with loans to such clients. He has also appeared before many local Boards and Commissions seeking necessary Permits and approvals for residential and commercial Projects.

In addition, John personally counsels numerous small and midsize corporate clients on all aspects of business law, including formation and operations of businesses, contract preparation and review; and other related issues. He handles all estate planning and estate administration work for the firm. For several years, John has also represented a major utility in Rhode Island creditor issues and regulatory matters. John is also experienced in handling real estate litigation matters; particularly title clearing and Reformation actions. John also serves as the attorney for several Rhode Island Land Trusts.

John has served on several local Boards in his community. He has been the Chairman of the Cumberland Zoning Board since 2005, and was on the Board of Directors of the North Cumberland Fire District from 2008 - 2014. He was involved in the redrafting of the current Cumberland Zoning Code. He was also past president of the Abbott Run Valley Swim and Tennis Club.
